MJ Paranzino is a well known musical director and entertainer. She set up and runs six choirs and is the co-founder with Ginny Dougary of Liberty Choir UK: creating choirs in prisons and psychiatric units (libertychoir.org). She is the go-to person for creating musical happenings and pop-up choirs in amazing places. Just take a look at her event at Highclere Castle (aka Downton Abbey) in 2014 here.

Last year, MJ’s BIG CHOIR LOVE IN celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the Summer of Love and was a great hit at the Curious Arts Festival. This year, MJ has been invited back to raise the roof of the Big Tent in a celebration of GOSPEL MUSIC.

You will be swept away into a musical revival history of Gospel music – from the reverent hymns to the hand clapping, foot stomping, tambourine slapping, gospel songs we’ve all come to know and love. You will get to sing spirituals and gospel blues as you trace the story and history of gospel music into the 20th century of Jazz, Soul and Rhythm & Blues. It’s a toe tapping, choir celebration of sight and sound and as always at the Curious Arts Festival, all you need to do is sign up to be a part of it.

So come and join in. The rehearsal starts at 10am on Sunday morning in the Big Tent with a performance of MJ’s Choirs and YOU at 12pm.

Expect the Unexpected.

You will need to book in advance to guarantee a place. Please click here to sign-up for MJ’s Big Choir and for other book in advance events.
