Júníus Meyvant is the musical name adopted by Icelandic Unnar Gísli Sigurmundsson, a native of the tiny and remote Vestmannaeyjar archipelago. His music is a rich and affected take on freaky folk pop with a familiar and soulful feel. His debut single Color Decay, a polished slice of bright folk-pop with an infectious horn arrangement, has already been a big hit in his native country. Most recently at the Icelandic Music Awards in 2017 Júníus Meyvant received 5 nominations for Best Album, Best Singer, Best Album Cover, Best Music Video and Best Composer. He won Best Album Of The Year for his album ‘Floating Harmonies’.
We are thrilled to welcome Junius and his band to this summer’s Curious Arts Festival.
Junius will be performing on Saturday 22nd July. Buy tickets here.
