A former theatre and television producer, Piers’s books for children include The Last Wild Trilogy (Guardian Children’s Fiction Prize) There May Be a Castle and The Lost Magician (publishing August 2018). He also completed his late father Paul’s final unfinished novel,The Death of an Owl (W&N). He has written for The Guardian and The Spectator. A regular festival speaker, Piers is a constant visitor at schools both here and abroad to talk to children about their reading and writing. A Beanstalk reading helper in North London, he is also a Trustee of the Pleasance Theatre Trust, where he sits on their Development committee. Prior to that, he was a Trustee of the Rose Theatre Trust.
